Theater Summer Camp located at Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center in Newport News.
Why read about history, when you can experience it first-hand! Children can learn about America’s rich military heritage, teamwork, leadership skills and get exercise too. This fun and educational camp is for boys and girls ages 8-13. Participants will get the chance to “join the army” for the week and experience life as a Civil War soldier. Experiences include camp life, drills and battles. This year’s theme will focus on the western battles in 1863.

Send your child to a summer camp he/she will not forget! This is not your typical sailing camp. We incorporate sailing with marine science and fun; play on-the-water games like Quidditch, Tennis Ball Tag, Turbo Basketball, Highway and more! This year we will be going to full day camps and including lunch in our tuition! Since 2016, we have partnered with the Virginia Air & Space Center to provide a math, science and sailing adventure for children ages 8 to 12. Every Wednesday we will host a Pirate Day, where sailors get to dress like pirates and go on a sailing scavenger hunt to find the pirate treasure. During each session, we will have a Parent Day where parents are encouraged to come watch what their child has learned throughout the camp, and of course take pictures! After completing each course, sailors are sent home with a card showing which objectives and goals they have accomplished throughout the course.
Get creative this summer at art camp. There are different themes to choose from.
YMCA summer camp has the capacity to transform young lives in many ways. Your child will play, explore, learn new skills, and make new friends at the Y this summer. With campers being surrounded by positive role models, natural environments, and our Christian principles, the combination is perfect for enhancing lives and building positive character traits. We look forward to creating life-long memories with your child while they grow in spirit, mind and body.
Open to riders ages 7 and up. Camp runs from 9 am – 4 pm and will focus on horse care and basic riding skills. Each day will include a riding lesson, a theory lesson, and lunch by the pool, swimming, and helping in the barn.
Children from 6 – 12 develop skills in heritage homesteading, from caring for animals, to nourishing the soul and soil in the garden. They work with nature as a farmer and environmentalist as well as create real food and traditional artwork and crafts by hand. In addition to new and favorite experiences, our campers enjoy the fellowship of the farm community, which they have an important part in creating.

NORFOLK
This is an opportunity for young people to learn all about theatre with hands on activities and workshop style instruction. No previous experience required...a desire to have fun is.
The D'art center has many weekly camps to choose from. Their art camps combine art with other disciplines. Camp themes: Art & Science, Art & Math, Art & Community, and Art & Leadership,
A fun, hands-on camp that includes water and shore-based activities led by certified instructors. Your child will experience the water in a whole new way while learning the principles of sailing and water safety. Each boat will have a certified instructor on board to provide more personalized training for each student.
The TRDance Center offers a variety of summer programs including Youth Camps, Dance Intensives for older students and a complete roster of Ongoing Classes for students of all ages.
SUFFOLK
Let the summer adventures begin! Fun, friendship, responsibility and challenges await your child this summer at Nansemond-Suffolk Academy. Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts has partnered with Young Audiences of Virginia and Sylvan Learning to bring summer camps to the children of Suffolk! Summer camp offerings include week-long camps focusing on Art, Theatre, Music, or S.T.E.A.M topics.

The Military Aviation Museum is excited to hold its annual Warbirds Aviation Summer Camp July 16 through July 20th. During this fun-filled week, children spend time at the Military Aviation Museum, among one of the largest private collections of flying vintage and reproduction aircraft in the world. They will have the thrill of getting up close to World War I and World War II-era fighters, bombers, trainers, and seaplanes, while they learn everything about them and aviation in general.
This year’s camp, for both boys and girls, will feature 3 separate groups based on your child’s school grade.
OVERNIGHT CAMPS
