DAY CAMPS
CAMPS IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS ACROSS THE HAMPTON ROADS AREA
Children are presented with fun, hands-on challenges that encourage creative problem solving, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Camp invention is led by experienced local educators and new curriculum is introduced each year, inspired by the Inductees of the National Inventors Hall of Fame! Camp will be held in the following cities: Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Newport News, and Poquoson.
TCC's week-long programs are affordable and conveniently located on the Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach campuses, and at the Center for Workforce Solutions in Suffolk. Limited enrollment size ensures students receive personalized attention. And, every camper will receive a FREE career interest assessment using the Virginia Wizard!
PENINSULA: HAMPTON, NEWPORT NEWS, YORKTOWN, AND WILLIAMSBURG
The Cumascaigh School of Irish Dance offers training for dancers looking to perform, compete, or just have an amazing experience learning an art form that has transcended generations and crossed an ocean. The have three locations: Hampton, Yorktown, and Williamsburg.
DOWNING GROSS SUMMER THEATER CAMP
Theater Summer Camp located at Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center in Newport News.
Why read about history, when you can experience it first-hand! Children can learn about America’s rich military heritage, teamwork, leadership skills and get exercise too. This fun and educational camp is for boys and girls ages 8-13. Participants will get the chance to “join the army” for the week and experience life as a Civil War soldier. Experiences include camp life, drills and battles. This year’s theme will focus on the western battles in 1863.
Seaford Yacht Club offers Junior Sailing Camp for ages 8 -1 8 for beginners to advanced.
Hampton Roads Iceplex offers ice skating - from the beginner skater who has never stepped foot on the ice to the next Olympic champion. The Peninsula's premier Ice Skating facility has it all. Join us this summer for fun, excitement and education. Programs are held in classrooms at Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, with fun and educational activities, such as stories, games, crafts, snacks and visits to the galleries and living-history areas.
Isen Wright Academy, is a private tutoring and coaching program that specializes in helping children build the confidence, motivation and superior skills to succeed throughout their academic careers. Based on Ms. Wright’s experience receiving high honors in her Master’s Degree program and landing her first job out of college at NASA, she knows how to get results and prepare children for success in today’s competitive academic environment!
YMCA summer camp has the capacity to transform young lives in many ways. Your child will play, explore, learn new skills, and make new friends at the Y this summer. With campers being surrounded by positive role models, natural environments, and our Christian principles, the combination is perfect for enhancing lives and building positive character traits. We look forward to creating life-long memories with your child while they grow in spirit, mind and body.
Open to riders ages 7 and up. Camp runs from 9 am – 4 pm and will focus on horse care and basic riding skills. Each day will include a riding lesson, a theory lesson, and lunch by the pool, swimming, and helping in the barn.

They put fun and excitement into STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) by offering hands on learning for children ages 4 - 14. Their programs encourage children to build on their natural curiosity by designing, building, and testing their own creation.

NORFOLK
This is an opportunity for young people to learn all about theatre with hands on activities and workshop style instruction. No previous experience required...a desire to have fun is.
NEW this year...Kindergarten Readiness Program. This program is designed specifically for our youngest students (pre-K & K), focus on the social, motor and academic skills that help ensure school success. Fun experiential learning activities connect these skills to the real word and make learning come alive! Guest experts, community service projects and hands on learning enrich the typical day program experience. Attend for one week or all three! This summer Norfolk Christian teamed up half day with Little Scholars, LLC, a curriculum based summer camp, to offer even more variety to our daily themed camps. Weekly themed camps are designed for students grades K-5th. Each week may include pool days and field trips to local museums or play places. Before and After Care is also available.
Kids Summer Camp in Norfolk filled with latin dancing, painting, game, exercise and lots of fun! In the first half of the day, kids will explore their artistic talent by painting at Pinot’s Pallet and then be escorted down to the Mambo Room for a fun afternoon full of dance, games and exercise. At the end of the week, students will perform a short dance number for parents to show what they have learned.
A fun, hands-on camp that includes water and shore-based activities led by certified instructors. Your child will experience the water in a whole new way while learning the principles of sailing and water safety. Each boat will have a certified instructor on board to provide more personalized training for each student.
Theatrix Productions offer two camps based on ages. "KIDS ON BROADWAY" 2018 is specially designed for our younger performers. We select key scenes from Broadway's Best Musicals and weave them together to best highlight the skills and talents of the participants. “Teen PAW” will be doing the Tony Award Winner “The Drowsy Chaperone”. This is A Musical Within A Comedy with all the mayhem of a very OVER DIRECTED farce and a simple story of the love of MUSICAL THEATRE.
Norfolk Collegiate offers a plethora of full-day and half-day options for summer camp, whether academic, artistic or athletic, in a safe, fun and enriching atmosphere.
The TRDance Center offers a variety of summer programs including Youth Camps, Dance Intensives for older students and a complete roster of Ongoing Classes for students of all ages.
SUFFOLK
DM Dance offers Ballet, Pointe’, Tap, Jazz, Pom Pom, Hip Hop, Tumbling, Contemporary, Yoga, Classical Variations, Progressions, Polynesian, and All Boys Classes.
Suffolk Parks and Recreation offers various programs for children during the summer season. View their listing and register as early as March 1 to secure a summer of fun with Parks and Recreation.
Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts has partnered with Young Audiences of Virginia and Sylvan Learning to bring summer camps to the children of Suffolk! Summer camp offerings include week-long camps focusing on Art, Theatre, Music, or S.T.E.A.M topics.
VIRGINIA BEACH
Art Studio on the Blvd. is a full-service studio offering a variety of multi-media studio art lessons and fine art classes or workshops. They offer weekly summer camps.
Bella Dance's objective is to train, nurture, and encourage dancers to reach their personal best. They maintain an environment that teaches dancers to love dance and express themselves through movement and music while instilling physical and mental discipline.

Hunt Club’s Summer Farm Camp provides children the opportunity to learn about life on a farm. This program offers hands on experience with petting farm animals, including horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, llamas, alpacas and rabbits. Campers learn the responsibility of daily feeding, cleaning, grooming and animal care activities. Each session includes horseback-riding experiences, farm games, participate in a pony obstacle courses, a goat rodeo, and more! Farm camp is full of animal education and fun! There are a ton of other activities as we make modifications to the program based on what’s happening in the petting farm each week. Campers leave with an abundance of knowledge and appreciation of all living things. The goal at farm camp is to encourage a friendly environment in which children learn responsibility and initiate leadership skills that will make a memorable impact on their lives.

The Military Aviation Museum is excited to hold its annual Warbirds Aviation Summer Camp July 16 through July 20th. During this fun-filled week, children spend time at the Military Aviation Museum, among one of the largest private collections of flying vintage and reproduction aircraft in the world. They will have the thrill of getting up close to World War I and World War II-era fighters, bombers, trainers, and seaplanes, while they learn everything about them and aviation in general.
This year’s camp, for both boys and girls, will feature 3 separate groups based on your child’s school grade.
OVERNIGHT CAMPS
